Your fears of a child? She shook her head Came to nothing But clearly I'm not such an angelYou he leaned forward such as his bindings allowed are an angel still The one who did this to you? He is a devil 24%SO This is my second Tessa Dare book I have some things to say THE PREMISEViolet is at a ball when a wounded dirty man stumbles in and collapses at her feet Is he a stranger? A spy? Or her past love come back to haunt her?Not a bad premise Let's break this downTHE GOODI feel like I should start out with some praise since I ripped A Night to Surrender to shreds and have a generally low opinion of Dare's writing which honestly was not improved by reading this novella But I'm not an unfair person Let me see if I can get a gleaming piece or two of hope hereThe premise is mildly interesting and has promise She's at a ball the dirty wounded man falls at her feet She nurses him they are going to interrogate him he could be a spy or he could be the horrible piece of shit from her pastAnother good thing is the scene where The Spy says grace It is funny I can't describe it to you because it partly ruins the story but it was funnyThe speech where Violet view spoilerpulls a gun on Christian hide spoiler

DNF at about 40%I have been on a mission to read all the unread books on my and this book was next up in line I honestly do not remember why I bought this book because I haven't read any others in the series but I was willing to give it a shotI felt I was missing something when reading this so it's possibly not a standalone? Or easily read as one? The beginning was intriguing but then it took a turn and no longer held my interestFollow me on ♥ Facebook ♥ Blog ♥ Instagram ♥ Twitter ♥

❀ Cute but a bit silly ❀I liked Violet a lot but however couldn't connect with our broody hero mostly because I don't think I would ever forgive him if he treated me the way he treated Violet Their banters were uirky and entertaining though This is a nice holiday spirited novella but overall nothing special At least not for me since it didn't move me in any way The other novella Beauty and the Blacksmith was a bit interesting in my opinion

This is a short story set in Spindle Cove about a lady who falls for a spy that washes up on shore during a Christmas dance There's a bit to Violet and her mystery man's story than first appears and it's fun to watch it all unfold Definitely short but also definitely sweetA nice filler if you're craving a bit of Tessa Dare's trademark romance

In a setting much like this one almost a year ago A man she'd adored for years had finally noticed her Locked gazes with her across a crowded room then carved his way through the throng to take her handBut in the end he had proved to be a disappointmentThe DisappointmentViolet Winterbottom is clever pretty but no beauty She had loved her neighbour Lord Christian Pierce for years and finally he'd noticed her But then with barely a word he'd left Well twenty six words in a note to be precise but not even bothering to tell her in person When a man washes up at Spindle Cove and crashes the officers' ball Violet is shocked to see the man bears a striking resemblance to Christian But that's impossible as he is half a world awayFor a short story this was cleverly written having the hero and heroine already acuainted This story carries on from the first book in the series but it's not necessary to read A Night to Surrender Spindle Cove #1 to appreciate this novella But this is such a really enjoyable series it would be a shame to miss the brilliant first story in this series

25 Stars A very fluffy “second chance” and Christmas themed novella though written with the author’s usual charm and wit And it was nice revisiting Spindle Cove's world once again

I'm gonna say this was a solid addition to the series and a decent and enjoyable holiday read Probably one of the better ones I have read this season

“I take you Violet Mary to be my wife To have to hold To love honor and cherish To amuse to pleasure to make smile and laugh To dance with at every opportunity To respect always and tease on occasion To confide in whenever need be To treasure protect admire “ She couldn’t help but laugh “I don’t think these words are in the vows” “They’re in my vows” he said gravelyAfter a bitter disappointment Violet Winterbottom has stopped believing in happily ever after But one winter’s eve when she is standing uietly in the corner of a ballroom and a tall handsome stranger covered in dirt and blood comes in and collapses at her feet she feels an instant attraction to this man that is too powerful to be ignored He sure looks different from Lord Christian Pierce her childhood friend or “The Disappointment” as Violet has come to think of him The boy who used to exchange phrases in foreign languages with her just to see if she could figure out what language it was The one who disappeared without another word after he slept with her breaking her heart with just one little note The one who for some reason is now pretending to be a simple farmhand from BrittanyI absolutely loved this story I loved how despite everything Violet and Christian had the courage to give each other a second chance to get to know the people they had become while they were apart How he literally risked his life to see her just because he had heard that her family had finally had enough and intended to marry her off as soon as possible A perfect Christmas novella and a great addition to the Spindle Cove series
